Ararat Mirzoyan and Catherine Colonna Held a Phone Conversation
On July 6, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a phone conversation with French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna.
The parties exchanged thoughts on issues of security and stability in the region. Ararat Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan to his French counterpart. Key issues were addressed, particularly the demarcation of the state border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the rights and security of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, and addressing these concerns under international mechanisms, as well as the unblocking of economic and transport routes in the region.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the unacceptability of resolving issues through the use of force or the threat of force, highlighting the necessity to refrain from aggressive actions and provocative rhetoric by Azerbaijan. The urgency of international efforts to overcome the humanitarian crisis created by the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor and to prevent further actions aimed at ethnic cleansing by Azerbaijan was also underscored in the statement.
