Tbilisi Excludes Consultations with Kyiv on Saakashvili's Release
Tbilisi has ruled out consultations with Kyiv regarding the release of Mikheil Saakashvili, stated Irakli Kobakhidze, the head of the ruling 'Georgian Dream' party.
On Monday, Saakashvili called on the authorities to apologize for his physical condition, which he claims has deteriorated in prison, during hearings related to the dispersal of a protest in 2007. Kyiv has suggested that the Georgian ambassador leave Ukraine.
“Of course, there will be no consultations with Kyiv regarding Saakashvili. In this context, any consultations are absolutely excluded,” Kobakhidze told reporters.
