Iran Not Sending New Ambassador to Sweden; Reason Revealed

Despite the administrative procedures being completed for sending Iran's new ambassador to Sweden, the Islamic Republic's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has no plans to send its new ambassador to Stockholm at this time. Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian confirmed on Twitter that Tehran will not send a new ambassador to Sweden due to the burning of the Quran in the Scandinavian country.

Hojjatollah Faghani was recently appointed as Iran's new ambassador to Sweden, according to Iranian Mehr news agency. Previously, the Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the Swedish chargé d'affaires in Tehran to protest against the desecration of the Muslim holy book in the European country.

It is worth noting that on the outskirts of Stockholm, a 37-year-old Iraqi immigrant named Salwan Momika burned the Quran yesterday near a central mosque. This act was carried out with the permission and under the supervision of the police.
