Mr. Chalabyan's Claim Distorts Facts: Levon Sardarayan

Levon Sardarayan, head of the Public Relations Department of the Yerevan City Hall, addressed the press conference held today by members of the "Hayakve" initiative and the issues they raised.

"During the press conference, the coordinator of the 'Hayakve' initiative, Avetik Chalabyan, stated that 'a number of leaders of the administrative districts of Yerevan, referring to acting Mayor Levon Vahanyan, have refused to provide spaces for conducting a signature collection campaign.' This specifically pertains to the districts of Avan, Nor Nork, Kentron, Nubarashen, and Ajapnyak in the capital. The Yerevan City Hall claims that Mr. Chalabyan's assertion is a distortion of facts, as the representatives of the administrative districts did not refuse to provide spaces for the initiative, but rather, pointing to the division of powers, suggested that the initiative apply to the Yerevan City Hall for the appropriate permission. We are confident that Mr. Chalabyan has mistakenly assessed this suggestion as a refusal," he wrote.
