Everyone Acknowledges that Nagorno-Karabakh is Part of Azerbaijan: PACE President
The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Tiny Cox, has called on Baku to adhere to its commitments and to open the Lachin corridor. He stated, “Everyone acknowledges that Nagorno-Karabakh is part of Azerbaijan; however, that does not give the Azerbaijani government the right to do whatever it wants with those people.”
Cox emphasized that the blockade of the Lachin corridor could lead to a serious disaster for thousands of people living in Nagorno-Karabakh who rely on access to Armenia. “It is closed, and this constitutes a violation of Azerbaijan’s obligations. The Assembly firmly calls on Azerbaijan to follow its commitments and reopen the corridor to allow aid to reach Nagorno-Karabakh,” he noted.
