EU Approves 11th Sanction Package Against Russia, Including Companies Registered in Armenia
The European Union has approved the 11th package of sanctions against Russia. These sanctions affect 87 companies that the EU claims support Russia. This was reported by Rbc.
The sanctions target over 100 Russians, including military personnel, journalists, and businessmen, as well as media outlets such as Tsargrad, RT Balkan, Oriental Review, New Eastern Outlook, and Katehon. The EU has completely banned supplies through the northern branch of the Druzhba oil pipeline to Germany and Poland. It has also prohibited the entry of trailers and semi-trailers from Russia, as well as any tankers to its ports that are engaged in maritime transport of oil from other ships.
The list of high-tech and military goods banned for transit through Russian territory has been expanded. The EU has also banned the export of electrical components, semiconductors, optical components, navigation devices, and a number of metals to Russia. Moreover, it has imposed restrictions on the supply of new and used vehicles with an engine capacity exceeding 1.9 liters, as well as electric and hybrid vehicles.
However, the EU has made exceptions in its export bans to ensure the maintenance of the CPC pipeline. Additionally, 87 new companies have been added to the list of those directly supporting Russia's military-industrial complex in aggression against Ukraine. These are subject to stricter export restrictions for dual-use and advanced technology products. In addition to previously listed Russian and Iranian organizations, the list now includes companies registered in China, Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates, Syria, and Armenia.
