A Lawyer Was Subjected to Violence by Police Officers and Patrolmen at the Central Division: Bar Association

The spokesperson for the Bar Association of Armenia, Silvi Tigranyan, has reported that violence was once again inflicted on a lawyer within a police division. The spokesperson did not release further information about the incident on her Facebook page but confirmed in an interview with Tert.am that a lawyer had been subjected to violence at the police station.

The Bar Association stated that the lawyer, who was assaulted by police officers, does not wish to disclose their name at this time. However, the lawyer is expected to present details of the incident during a press conference tomorrow.

“The incident occurred at the Central Division of the Police, where the lawyer was brought in to fulfill professional duties. The violence took place while the lawyer was undertaking the defense of their client. The lawyer was subjected to violence by the division’s police officers and patrolmen,” Silvi Tigranyan reported, without providing additional details.
