Erdogan Fails to Mention Pashinyan Among Guests, TASS Reports
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan did not mention Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan when listing the heads of other states and governments present at the oath-taking ceremony, TASS reports, citing its correspondent in Turkey.
Erdogan expressed gratitude and welcomed several heads of state, including those from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Venezuela, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg and leaders from various African countries.
At that moment, Turkey's state TRT television displayed the guests, and Pashinyan was visible on-screen. Erdogan's wife and aides apparently suggested he had forgotten to thank someone.
Afterward, he addressed some political figures, including former presidential candidate Sinan Oğan, but again failed to mention Pashinyan.
Erdogan noted that "there won't be enough time to list all the guests." He remarked, "We are a bit pressed for time; we will all have the opportunity to talk later at the gala dinner."
