Final Results of Parliamentary Elections in Turkey Published
According to the final results of the parliamentary elections held on May 14 for the 28th convocation of the Turkish Parliament, the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) received 268 parliamentary mandates, the New Welfare Party received 5, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) received 50, the Green Left Party received 61, the Workers' Party received 5, the Republican People's Party (CHP) received 169, and the İYİ (Good) Party received 43 seats.
Armenpress reports that the Turkish Anadolu Agency has published the final election results in the government's official gazette, Resmi Gazete. According to source information, the Turkish Central Election Commission reported that out of 64,145,504 voters registered in the country, abroad, and at customs points, 55,835,895 participated in the voting process. A total of 1,393,307 ballots were deemed invalid.
Voter turnout in Turkey was 88.92 percent, while in overseas and customs points it was 53.80 percent. The overall voter turnout for the elections reached 87.05 percent.
