Wound Healing Takes Time: Michel on the Pashinyan-Aliyev Meeting in Chisinau
I am looking forward to the continuation of negotiations on Armenia-Azerbaijan resolution with President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Chisinau. This was stated by Charles Michel, President of the European Council, on his Twitter page.
“It is important to reaffirm respect for each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity and to make progress on border delimitation, as well as to reduce risks in border areas. Dialogue between Baku and Armenians residing in the former Nagorno-Karabakh is now crucial for their rights and security,” he noted.
“It is important to avoid maximalist positions and to aim for dialogue. Healing wounds after more than 30 years of conflict takes time. Bold decisions are needed,” the European Council leader remarked.
