Investigative Committee of Armenia Statement on Gunshots in Davtashen
Today in the Ajapnyak administrative district of Yerevan, on Bashinjaghyan street, gunshots were heard, resulting in one individual, K. Mkhtaryan, being transported to a medical facility with a firearm injury. This information has been reported by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
A criminal case has been initiated by the Investigative Committee's Ajapnyak and Davtashen investigative divisions under Article 44-155, part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
It is noted that an investigative group has been formed, and a preliminary investigation is underway, with investigators currently on the scene conducting urgent investigative and other actions to ascertain the circumstances of the incident, including whether the crime was related to the victim's professional activities or not, as well as to identify the perpetrators.
Forensic medical, forensic ballistic, and forensic trace examinations have been appointed.
The Investigative Committee will provide additional information on the established circumstances of the case and interim results of the investigation.
Recall that today, on May 19, gunshots were reported in Yerevan.
