Andranik Tevanian's Legal Team Issues a Statement

Andranik Tevanian's legal team has submitted an appeal to the Court of Appeals against the decision of the first instance court, which extended the term of detention for Andranik Tevanian by an additional two months. This was reported by the legal team.

At the same time, the legal team has also lodged an appeal with the Supreme Court, contesting the initial court ruling imposing detention on Andranik Tevanian.

It is worth reminding that on May 22, 2026, the prosecutor submitted a request to the Central Electoral Commission for permission to initiate criminal proceedings against Tevanian. The commission granted the prosecutor's request, approving the initiation of criminal proceedings against Andranik Tevanian and his deprivation of liberty.

Furthermore, the Investigative Committee issued a statement on May 21, 2026, announcing that a criminal case had been initiated regarding treason and espionage related to former MP Andranik Tevanian.
