Car Falls into 50-Meter Deep Gorge; Driver Hospitalized
The Lori Regional Crisis Management Center received a call on May 18 at 17:46, reporting a traffic accident near the "Mendz Er" cave in the city of Alaverdi, resulting in injuries.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ rescue service, a firefighting team from the regional rescue department was dispatched to the scene. It was discovered that a Hyundai vehicle, driven by I. H. (born in 1985), had veered off the road and fell into a nearby gorge (approximately 50 meters deep).
The rescuers cut off the vehicle's power and, alongside citizens, managed to pull I. H. out of the gorge. He was subsequently hospitalized at the Alaverdi Medical Center, where doctors assessed his condition as satisfactory.
