Simonyan to Raise Issue of Flight Ban from Armenia to Third Countries in Turkey
MP Sargis Khandanian spoke with reporters about the opening of Turkish airspace to Armenian carriers, noting that work needs to be done regarding this issue. “The Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, is currently in Ankara and is set to meet with the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament. He will also raise this issue at this level. The real problem at the moment is that Armenian carriers are unable to expand their operations through Turkish airspace,” Khandanian stated.
Earlier today, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu mentioned that Turkey had closed its airspace to Armenian planes due to the installation of the 'Nemesis' statue in Yerevan.
