Turkish Side Only Prohibits Flights Through Its Airspace to Other Countries: Ananyan
FlyOne Armenia airline has not carried out flights through Turkish airspace yesterday and today. This was stated by Aram Ananyan, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the airline, in an interview with NEWS.am.
Ananyan noted that due to the Turkish ban, only the Paris-Yerevan flight was forced to make a landing in another country. When asked what reasons the Turkish side provides for the ban and what work is being done to lift it, Ananyan mentioned that he could not provide any news at the moment.
“As soon as we receive information, we will inform you immediately. The airline will use all the tools at its disposal to ensure that our passengers' travel plans are not altered,” Ananyan stated.
The Yerevan-Istanbul flight, scheduled for 00:55, is not canceled. “The Turkish side only prohibits flights to other countries through its airspace; flights to Istanbul are not canceled. The upcoming flights have not been postponed yet, and we are cooperating with our European partners to carry out flights,” Ananyan said.
It is noteworthy that aviation authorities of Turkey unexpectedly revoked the previously granted permission for Flyone Armenia to operate flights through Turkish airspace to Europe on April 29.
