The US Imposes Sanctions on IRGC Intelligence Service and Russian FSB

The US Department of the Treasury has included the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) intelligence organization and the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) on its sanctions list. Both entities are listed in the SDN List.

The sanctions have been imposed for their involvement in the illegal detention of American citizens abroad.

In addition to this, sanctions have also been placed on four senior representatives of the Iranian intelligence organization.

The US Department of the Treasury stated that the sanctions were enacted based on a decision by the State Department.
