Employee Should Undergo Drug Testing 1-2 Times a Year: Khachaturyan

The MP from the ruling Civil Contract party, Armen Khachaturyan, proposes that all state institutions requiring an employment contract should include a clause mandating employees to undergo drug testing 1-2 times a year.

Khachaturyan presented this proposal during an extraordinary session of the National Assembly. He highlighted that the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan, stated in today’s session that 2023 is the year for combating drug trafficking for the police.

“If an employee refuses this test, it should be grounds for dismissal, from the National Assembly down to all local self-governments,” Khachaturyan said. He emphasized that we do not fully grasp the situation currently prevailing in Armenia.

It is worth noting that last night, the police conducted a special operation at the 'Polygraph' club on Koryun Street. The parliament members from the ruling party discussed this topic during the extraordinary session.
