VIDEO: Why does he want to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan today? Oskanian

Former Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian has published a video on his Facebook page, stating: “In this recording, I have addressed Nikol Pashinyan’s claims regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh negotiations and the Madrid principles. (There is an error at the 14th minute; it should be 2007 instead of 1997).”

“Honestly, I wouldn’t want to spend time on this, but I feel compelled to do so. To summarize: that document states the exact opposite of what Nikol Pashinyan claims. By presenting the Madrid document and its acceptance by Azerbaijan, they actually recognize that Nagorno-Karabakh is not part of Azerbaijan, and the people of Nagorno-Karabakh should decide their fate through a referendum. I genuinely do not understand Pashinyan’s reasoning. Perhaps he should be asked why he wants to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan today, which will be based on mutual recognition of territorial integrity,” said Oskanian in the video message.
