VIDEO: 'Ermenistan'? Turk or Persian? Who are the people found in Zovuni?

A video is actively circulating on the internet, filmed in the Zovuni community of Kotayk Province. In the video, the author asks a man seen in it whether he is Turkish, to which he responds, not very clearly, but says yes. When asked how many Turks are in the community, he mentions five.

Auroranews contacted the head of the Zovuni community, Artashes Gharibyan, to clarify the details. Gharibyan stated that there are actually two individuals involved. 'They are of Persian nationality. The police are well aware of this; they came, checked, and looked at their passports,' he added.

In response to a remark about the significant number of Azerbaijanis living in Iran, who also have Iranian passports, he noted that he cannot comment on that question.

When asked if the circulating information has caused concern among the population, he mentioned, 'Naturally, it has caused some unease among certain individuals, but they felt a bit reassured when they learned that there is nothing to this claim.'

Auroranews also attempted to obtain details from the Armenian police, who stated that they do not provide information regarding individuals.
