Alen Simonyan Explains Why He Deleted the Post About Ashot Pashinyan
Journalists asked the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, whether he had lied regarding the incident involving Ashot Pashinyan. Simonyan responded, “No, that does not mean anything. I will not provide any evaluation; my political assessment remains the same.”
When questioned about why he deleted the post, Simonyan replied, “Because I do not want to have anything that has issues with reality. This is not an unchecked matter; it is an assessment which I believe differs. I do not comment on it; I am glad that everything is fine.”
It should be reminded that Alen Simonyan, the Speaker of the National Assembly, had posted on his Facebook page that Ashot Pashinyan had been attacked. According to Simonyan, this was part of a series of organized provocations, the traces of which lead beyond the borders of our country. He expressed confidence that the legal and political response to the act would not be delayed. That post has since been removed from Alen Simonyan's Facebook page.
