Opposition Initiative to Terminate Seda Safaryan's Powers Not Accepted
The decision to submit to the Constitutional Court regarding the termination of Seda Safaryan's powers was approved by 30 lawmakers, thus the opposition's initiative was not accepted.
The National Assembly of Armenia will not appeal to the Constitutional Court regarding the termination of Judge Seda Safaryan's powers. After the closed secret ballot, the head of the counting committee, Narek Babayan, noted that out of 107 lawmakers, 30 participated.
The votes were distributed as follows: in favor - 30, against - 0, and there were no invalid ballots. It is worth noting that an appeal to the Constitutional Court requires a decision supported by at least 3/5 of the total number of lawmakers (63 representatives).
