Anna Hakobyan's Relative Becomes Deputy Mayor of Gyumri

During the latest session of the Gyumri City Council, Vahagn Mkrtchyan was elected as the deputy mayor with a vote of 21 in favor, 4 against, and 3 abstentions.

'My family has a history of over 200 years in the city, and that is one of the reasons why I consider Gyumri my home. My activities will be aimed solely at the benefit of the city, for the benefit of the residents of Gyumri, and for the restoration of the ancient glory of our city,' said Vahagn Mkrtchyan.

Vahagn Hrachy Mkrtchyan is 28 years old and is a dentist by profession. He is reported to be a relative of Anna Hakobyan, the wife of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. In a conversation with journalists, he confirmed that he has a familial connection with Anna Hakobyan.

'Yes, there is a connection with Anna Hakobyan, I confirm it, I do not deny it. Both our city and our country are unfortunately so small that if we find a person who does not have any familial, friendly, or intimate relationship with some official or authority figure, I think that is excluded,' he noted.
