Abrahamyan: This Statement Contains Numerous Messages Ahead of Pashinyan's Press Conference

Member of the Armenian National Assembly from the 'Honorary Right' faction Tigran Abrahamyan wrote on his Facebook page: 'All five factions of the Artsakh Parliament have issued a statement reaffirming their position that the principles and approaches laid at the foundation of the national-liberation struggle remain unchanged and should also serve as a guiding principle for the Armenian government.'

He specifically noted that 'The factions of the Artsakh Republic's National Assembly, expressing the will and position of the people, demand that the Armenian authorities adhere to the decision of the Supreme Council of Armenia dated July 8, 1992, and not question the right of the Artsakh people to self-determination.'

'This joint statement, ahead of Pashinyan's press conference, contains numerous messages. Although it references the Armenian authorities, signals are also directed to other addressees.'

'First, this is addressed to all those circles, both inside and outside, who view the issue of Artsakh not in the context of the right to self-determination, but rather within the framework of integration with Azerbaijan.'

'Second, this is a response to those Armenian officials, from Pashinyan to the deeply-rooted Artsakh native Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan, who view the issue of Artsakh not as a matter of the right to self-determination, but purely within the rights and freedoms of the Artsakh citizens.'

'Third, this is a message to Azerbaijan rejecting any resolution of the issue that does not include the principle of the right to self-determination and pushes the process into the realm of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.'

'Fourth, Artsakh decisively says NO to any forces that thought they could break the Artsakh people through blackmail, threats, or blockades, and reach the Azerbaijanization of Artsakh.'

It should be recalled that the factions of the Artsakh National Assembly have issued a joint statement.
