Stepantsminda-Lars Closed: Road Conditions Update
The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads within the territory of Armenia.
In the Aragatsotn Province, the roads from the 'Amberd' high mountain meteorological station to the Amberd Fortress and the Kari Lake are closed.
Furthermore, the route from the village of Tsilkqar in Aragatsotn Province to the Spitak bends is difficult to navigate, as well as the roads in the Lori Province. There are also snowstorms in the areas referred to as Saravan-'Zanger' and Sisian-'Zanger.'
On the Maralik-Lanjik road in Shirak Province, there is localized black ice.
Snowfall is occurring in the Aragatsotn and Kotayk provinces, the Dilijan bends, and the towns of Berd and Ijevan, as well as in the mentioned areas of Saravan-'Zanger' and 'Meghri Mountain.'
Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed to all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to use only winter tires.
