Many WhatsApp and Viber Users Currently Face This Issue, Martirosyan Warns
Media expert Samvel Martirosyan has posted a warning, urging the public to be cautious of becoming victims of the latest cyberattack.
“At the moment, a considerable number of people are experiencing issues with their accounts. WhatsApp and also Viber accounts are being opened in their names, that is, using their phone numbers. The issue is being investigated.
Currently, naturally, the biggest suspicion falls on the special services of our two arch-enemies. But this is still a hypothesis. In any case, I sincerely urge everyone to enable two-step verification on WhatsApp and elsewhere. Especially for residents of border communities and Artsakh.
I will post later about how to attempt to recover stolen accounts (the problem is that the thieves enable two-step verification on their end to prevent the account from being recovered).”
The media expert has released a video to keep the public informed.
