Discussion on Ohanyan's Case Begins in National Assembly, Meeting is Closed-Door
The National Assembly has commenced discussions regarding the request to initiate public criminal prosecution against Seyran Ohanyan, the leader of the "Armenia" faction and former Minister of Defense of Armenia. The meeting is again closed to the public.
It is recalled that the Prosecutor General of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, presented a motion to initiate public criminal prosecution against Ohanyan.
Ohanyan is accused of having committed substantial embezzlement through the abuse of his official position (in 2 instances), as well as using his official position for personal gain and group interests, which carelessly led to serious consequences (in 2 instances).
