Azerbaijan's Intentions Are Clear: U.S. Congresswoman on the Blockade of the Lachin Corridor

The U.S. administration must take immediate action to end the blockade of the Lachin Corridor. This statement was made by Congresswoman Katie Porter in the U.S. Congress, according to Armenpress.

The congresswoman condemned Azerbaijan's blockade of the Lachin Corridor, which has deprived 120,000 residents of Artsakh of essential goods for nearly two months. "Azerbaijan's objective is clear: to force the ethnic Armenians of Artsakh to leave their homeland by creating conditions that make it impossible to live there. We must hold Azerbaijan accountable for its aggression. I continue to urge the administration to take immediate steps to put an end to this blockade," Porter said.

She also emphasized that Washington should halt military support to Baku. "We need to stop all military assistance to Azerbaijan. American taxpayers should not subsidize Azerbaijan's ongoing aggression against the Armenian people. I continue to express my solidarity with the Armenian people and the Armenian-American community," Congresswoman Katie Porter concluded.
