Lachin Corridor, Situation in Artsakh. Mirzoyan Discusses with Ricker, Klaar, and Rokfou
On December 23, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a telephone conversation with the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Toivo Klaar, and the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group from the USA and France, Philip Ricker and Brice Rokfou. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
During the conversation with the foreign officials, Minister Mirzoyan presented the situation created due to the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan, including the humanitarian consequences for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The interlocutors addressed issues related to the normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations and the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that the international community must take effective steps to compel Azerbaijan to fully respect the provisions of the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020, and to unconditionally unblock the Lachin corridor, removing all obstacles to safe and unhindered transportation.
He also stressed the importance of sending a fact-finding mission to Nagorno-Karabakh and the Lachin corridor to assess the humanitarian situation, as well as ensuring unhindered humanitarian access to Nagorno-Karabakh for the relevant bodies of the UN.
