Azerbaijani Actions Are Aimed at Ethnic Cleansing of Armenians in Artsakh, Mirzoyan

By blocking the Lachin corridor, Azerbaijan is creating a humanitarian disaster in Nagorno-Karabakh, and this action is aimed at the ethnic cleansing of the Armenian population in the region. This statement was made by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during a phone conversation with Philip Ricker, the U.S. Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group on Caucasus negotiations, according to the ministry.

"Azerbaijan is violating its commitments undertaken by the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020, and grossly violating international humanitarian law, emphasizing the need for a prompt response from the international community in the context of restoring unhindered traffic through the Lachin corridor," Mirzoyan stated.

During the phone call, the security situation in the South Caucasus region and the process of normalizing Armenia-Azerbaijan relations were also discussed.
