VIDEO: Russian Peacekeepers Fail to Fulfill Their Obligations – Pashinyan
During today's government meeting, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the humanitarian situation in Artsakh remains extremely tense due to the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor.
“The crisis created in the Lachin Corridor has not been resolved, except for one thing: the supply of natural gas to Artsakh has been restored. Due to Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor, the humanitarian situation in Artsakh remains extremely tense, with hundreds of families continuing to be split,” he said.
There is a noted deficit of essential goods, including food, in Artsakh.
“Azerbaijan's actions to block the Lachin Corridor are illegal and grossly violate their international obligations,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
According to him, the Russian peacekeeping contingent is also failing to fulfill its obligation to maintain control of the Lachin Corridor as stipulated in the trilateral declaration.
“Such a thing is happening due to Azerbaijan's illegal actions, but this does not change the situation, because the key purpose of the Russian peacekeeping contingent's presence is exactly to prevent such lawlessness from occurring,” Pashinyan stressed.
