‘No Alternatives Exist’: Marukyan on the Situation Around the Lachin Corridor
Armenia’s Special Envoy Edmon Marukyan wrote on his Twitter page: ‘For 10 days, the entire world has been vocally calling for the opening of the Lachin corridor, and the people of Nagorno-Karabakh should not suffer due to Azerbaijan’s unfounded demands. No alternatives exist. As initially agreed upon in Washington, international mechanisms must be established to resolve all issues between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan.’
It is worth noting that Artsakh has been under complete blockade for 10 days. On the morning of December 12, the Azerbaijani side closed the Lachin corridor under the pretext of environmental concerns, which is the only route connecting Artsakh to Armenia and the outside world.
