Artsakh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Issues Statement
Artsakh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the discussion of the blockade of Artsakh by Azerbaijan at the emergency session of the UN Security Council.
“The fact that such a key body of a powerful international organization has convened an emergency meeting on this issue clearly demonstrates the serious concerns of the international community regarding the current situation, as well as Azerbaijan's aggressive political stance,” stated the Ministry.
According to official Stepanakert, the international community's critical stance towards Azerbaijan's policies was reflected in the speeches of representatives from UN Security Council member states.
The statement of the Ministry notes, “The people of Artsakh are facing a humanitarian disaster, which cannot and must not be ignored.”
“We hope that the international community will also take concrete steps towards the blockade of Artsakh. Only through the application of appropriate sanctions against Azerbaijan can the situation in the region be stabilized and preconditions for lasting peace be created,” the Artsakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared.
Last night, during a discussion lasting about an hour and a half, diplomats from more than ten countries, including all permanent members, addressed the situation in the Lachin corridor.
