Gas Supply in Artsakh Can Be Disrupted Again at Any Moment, Beglaryan

The Lachin corridor connecting Armenia and Artsakh remains completely closed. However, there are positive steps in terms of negotiations, as Azerbaijan has promised to unblock Artsakh. This was stated by Artak Beglaryan, the advisor to the Prime Minister of Artsakh, during a conversation with reporters in front of the UN office in Yerevan, adding that one cannot trust Baku's promises.

“Gas supply to Artsakh has been restored today, but it can be disconnected at any moment because the valve of the gas pipeline continues to remain under Azerbaijan's control. This could happen today, tomorrow, or in January, whenever they wish,” he added, emphasizing that the gas supply has been restored without any preconditions.

Beglaryan also noted that these events are directly related to the pressure from the international community, including the UN. However, Azerbaijani authorities, led by Ilham Aliyev, must understand that they will face consequences for attempts to commit genocide against the people of Artsakh.

According to the advisor to the Prime Minister of Artsakh, there must be an international consensus around Artsakh, the UN and other international organizations should open representation offices there, and the number and mandate of peacekeepers should be increased and clarified.
