«Aliyev Demands That We Do Not Use the Term Nagorno-Karabakh» - Marukyan
Edmon Marukyan, the special envoy of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, spoke today with reporters about the situation in Artsakh, frequently using the term "Nagorno-Karabakh" instead of the Republic of Artsakh. In response to Hraparak.am's observation regarding the usage of the term, which aligns more with Azerbaijani narratives, Marukyan said, "You are misphrasing; the Azerbaijani narrative pertains to the 'Karabakh economic zone.' I use both Nagorno-Karabakh and Artsakh, but when communicating with international partners, I mainly refer to it as Nagorno-Karabakh because it is fixed in the trilateral statement."
According to Marukyan, if they do not use the term "Nagorno-Karabakh," it would mean succumbing to Ilham Aliyev's demand. "It is Ilham Aliyev who demands that we do not use the term Nagorno-Karabakh," Marukyan stated.
