The scandal surrounding the video featuring Messi is gaining new momentum. Cesc Fabregas, a friend and former teammate of the Argentine, attempted to explain to the Mexican boxer how athletes regard jerseys in football.

“You don’t know the person and you don’t understand how athletes celebrate in the locker room. Everyone throws their jerseys on the floor, even ours. This always happens after a significant victory; they get washed later,” wrote Fabregas on his social media platforms.

Messi himself has not yet commented on his actions.
