Soldier Arrested for Murdering Colleague and Causing Harm to Himself

The investigation into the case initiated by the Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee continues regarding the murder of a colleague and causing harm to himself by a reserve soldier.

Based on a sufficient combination of evidence, a reserve soldier has been charged under Part 1 of Article 155 and Part 1 of Article 528 of the RA Criminal Code, and as a measure of restraint, he has been detained.

As previously reported, on October 29, 2022, at a combat position in the N military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense, the reserve soldier had an argument with fellow reserve soldier Misak Petrosyan during which he fired several shots from a submachine gun, causing a fatal gunshot wound to the head of the latter. After that, he also shot himself in the leg, causing a gunshot wound.

The investigation is ongoing.
