One Citizen Injured in Landmine Explosion in Artsakh
On November 5, a report was received at the crisis management center of the Emergency Situations Ministry regarding a landmine explosion in the administrative territory of Karmir village in the Askeran region, resulting in one civilian being injured.
According to the Artsakh Interior Ministry's police, emergency and medical teams that arrived at the scene transported the injured citizen to the republican medical center.
At 16:30, the Republican Medical Center informed the police that a 32-year-old resident of Berdashen community in Martuni region, S. Azaryan, had been admitted with a left foot amputation due to a landmine explosion and an open fracture of the second finger of his left hand. He works in Karmir village in the Askeran region.
Police officers who arrived at the medical facility found that on the same day around 13:00, S. Azaryan, while working in the administrative territory of Karmir village, was in a pasture area known as “Ghumategh”, where he stepped on a landmine, sustaining injuries that required his transport to the medical center.
The investigation is being handled by the Stepanakert City Police Department.
