Discrepancies Exist Between Russia and Turkey, Says Peskov
Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the President of Russia, spoke about Russian-Turkish relations during an interview with the Izvestia newspaper. According to information from Ermenihaber.am, he stated: "Undoubtedly, Turkey is a friendly country for us. Turkey is a very important partner for us in both political and economic cooperation. We know that Turkey has not joined the anti-Russian illegal sanctions and is actually conducting a sovereign, independent foreign policy."
According to him, the potential for collaboration between the two countries is enormous and has not yet been fully utilized. At the same time, Peskov emphasized that there are discrepancies between Russia and Turkey on several issues, including the matter of Ukraine.
Regarding Turkey's attempts to organize negotiations between the presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Peskov noted: "As for the meeting between Putin and Zelensky, nothing has changed on this issue. We don't need a meeting just for the sake of a meeting."
