UN's Response to Denial of Visa to Lavrov
The United Nations is actively in communication with the United States regarding visa matters for Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's delegation. This was stated by the press service of the UN Secretary-General, according to 360tv.ru.
The issue concerns the participation of the head of the foreign policy agency at a high-level session of the UN General Assembly.
Earlier, Russia's permanent representative had sent a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, indicating that there has been a complicated situation regarding the entry documents for Lavrov's delegation for several months. He requested that the message be conveyed to US authorities to expedite the issuance of the requested visas.
