Peskov: 'What Erdogan is talking about is impossible'
The stance of Turkey on the Crimea issue does not hinder cooperation between Moscow and Ankara on necessary matters; Russia highly appreciates Turkey's efforts to resolve complex situations.
This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the President of Russia, commenting on Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan's remarks that Crimea should be returned to Ukraine.
"Ankara has always spoken about its disagreement with us on this issue. However, Crimea is part of the Russian Federation, so what Erdogan is talking about is impossible. Nevertheless, this does not prevent us from engaging with Turkey where it is beneficial for us. We greatly appreciate Turkey's efforts in resolving complex situations, as was the case with grain. Therefore, wherever necessary, we have communicated and will continue to communicate, and we have very good potential to deepen our cooperation," Peskov said.
