If Avinyan is nominated, the Luys faction will vote in favor: Khachatryan

The Luys faction has always voted in favor of vice mayor candidates, and we will vote in favor of Tigran Avinyan's candidacy if he is nominated. Ani Khachatryan, a member of the Yerevan City Council from the Luys faction, stated this in an interview with Oragir.news while addressing the question of how they would vote on Avinyan's candidacy for vice mayor if such a question comes up during the autumn session.

“We do not vote against individuals. It is normal for the ruling political team to nominate a candidate; that's how it works. We criticize the future work of individuals, and since we have not seen Mr. Avinyan's performance, we cannot oppose him. He might be a good vice mayor, or he might be a very poor vice mayor; that will become clear during his tenure,” she said.

When asked whether such a question would be on the agenda during the autumn session, she replied that they have not yet received the projects. “We will probably receive them on the 30th or 31st,” she noted. She also pointed out that there are no legislative obstacles to Avinyan's appointment as vice mayor.
