Prime Minister’s Vehicle Violates Traffic Regulations: Fip
On the morning of August 15, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Surmalu Trade Center, where an explosion occurred the previous day. According to videos circulated by the media, the front part of one of the SUVs in the PM's motorcade is missing its license plate. However, the same vehicle has a license plate at the rear, reading 001 UU. This was reported by FIP.am.
“This is the vehicle that personally serves the Prime Minister, and Nikol Pashinyan gets out of this car. Notably, all other accompanying vehicles in the Prime Minister’s escort displayed their license plates as required, and it was only the vehicle transporting the Prime Minister that was found to be in violation of the established regulations,” the report states.
It follows that the Prime Minister is operating in clear violation of the law, as per Article 18, Part 1 of the Law on Ensuring Road Traffic Safety, which prohibits the movement of a vehicle when the driver is operating it under a false, altered, or non-standard license plate or without a license plate altogether. According to the regulations for vehicle registration and allocation of license plates, light passenger vehicles are assigned two plates containing the same collection of characters (one at the front and one at the rear).
Thus, the lack of a front license plate on the vehicle transporting the Prime Minister is a violation of the Law on Ensuring Road Traffic Safety. Moreover, it is customary for vehicles transporting the Prime Minister to have their license plates properly displayed. Numerous video clips previously circulated in the media show that the vehicle transporting the Prime Minister did display its license plates,” the platform notes.
