Turkey Reveals Possible Meeting Locations for Armenian and Turkish Envoys
The next meeting of the envoys from Armenia and Turkey aimed at normalizing relations is likely to take place either in Turkey or Armenia. Turkish newspaper 'Milliyet' reports, citing a Turkish diplomat, that 'Ankara has suggested holding the fifth meeting of the envoys either in Ankara, Yerevan, or in a border city such as Kars,' said a representative of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, adding that the meeting is planned for the upcoming September.
According to the Turkish diplomat, Ankara believes that positive progress in the normalization process between Armenia and Turkey will also impact other processes in the region. 'Turkey’s goal is not only to normalize relations with Armenia but also to normalize relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Ankara advocates for the establishment of strong peace and stability in the region,' the diplomat stated, noting that the development of trade with Armenia could contribute to this aim.
