Iran Has Technical Capabilities to Create Atomic Bomb
The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Mohammad Eslami, stated on August 1 that Tehran possesses the technical capabilities to develop nuclear weapons; however, this issue is not on the authorities' agenda.
"Iran has the technical capabilities to create an atomic bomb, but this program is not on the agenda," he said.
The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) noted that accusations against Tehran regarding aspirations for nuclear weapons are unfounded.
"These false accusations are made by Israel with the support of anti-revolutionary forces to deceive public opinion," he declared.
According to Eslami, there has been constructive cooperation established between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), functioning without interruptions.
"All our actions (concerning the development of nuclear programs) are carried out within the framework of the Non-Proliferation Treaty under the supervision of the IAEA," he noted.
