VIDEO: The Caucasian Leopard Captured on Camera in Khosrov Forest
Joint monitoring activities conducted with the "Khosrov Forest" state reserve and the Armenian branch of the World Wildlife Fund have once again captured the Caucasian leopard on camera.
The leopard is one of the most impressive animals of Armenia’s wildlife and one of the most endangered species in the Caucasian eco-region. According to the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia, the Caucasian leopard is currently listed in the Red Book of Armenia and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List.
Leopards can be found in the following habitats:
- Broadleaf forests and sparse forests
- Mountain steppes
- Subalpine meadows
- Alpine meadows
