VIDEO. The Discussion Between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Tbilisi Revealed
On July 16, the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan met in Tbilisi, hosted by Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov addressed a wide range of issues related to the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The sides discussed the progress of previously undertaken obligations and exchanged ideas on possible future steps.
Minister Mirzoyan reaffirmed the Armenian side's view that the political resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is crucial on the path to achieving stable and lasting peace in the region. In this context, he emphasized the importance of utilizing the institution and experience of the OSCE Minsk Group in accordance with its international mandate.
The Armenian Foreign Minister also highlighted the significance of addressing humanitarian issues, including the release and repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war and clarifying the fates of missing persons. The readiness of both sides to continue communications was noted.
