European Youth Championships have commenced today for freestyle wrestlers. In the semifinals, Mushegh Mkrtchyan secured a 3-1 victory over Azerbaijan's Amir Aslanov, advancing to the finals.

In the quarterfinals, Mkrtchyan had previously triumphed over his Italian opponent. It is worth noting that the Greco-Roman wrestlers have completed their performances at the U20 European Championships taking place in Rome, where they collectively earned 4 medals.
