It Is Still Possible to Reach an Agreement: Iranian Foreign Ministry
The Iranian Foreign Minister has stated that it is still possible to overcome disagreements and reach an agreement regarding the nuclear deal signed between Tehran and the great powers in 2015, although Washington recently assessed the negotiations as a failure.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian wrote on Twitter today that despite the lack of agreement in the two-day negotiations that concluded on June 29, Tehran is "ready to reach a good, strong, and lasting deal."
The Iranian diplomat's statement follows negotiations in Doha, where mediators from the EU were trying to resume talks that had been suspended months ago between Washington and Tehran.
Both sides blame each other for the lack of progress; Washington insists that Iran continues to push unrelated demands, while according to Tehran, the U.S. claims exclude any guarantees of Iran's economic benefits.
