"It's better to be broken like a man than to become a slave and be abused every time," said David Babayan, the Foreign Minister of Artsakh, during a conversation with reporters when asked about the inclusion of Artsakh in Azerbaijan.

"A final and comprehensive resolution is still a problem for the distant future; we must keep and preserve Artsakh by all means. There are opportunities," Babayan added.

According to him, it will be difficult to achieve a prompt settlement, but there is also a red line: being part of Azerbaijan or having any dependency on that country.

"We are a de facto independent, sovereign country, and to think that we can be part of Azerbaijan is unacceptable," said Babayan. He emphasized that the fate of Artsakh is at risk: "We must act in a way that doesn’t cause harm. If we lose Artsakh, there will be no Armenia—forget it."
