Three Times More Tourists Visit Armenia Compared to Last Year, Kerobyan Presents Numbers
This year, during the first four months, three times more tourists have arrived in Armenia compared to last year. Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan shared this information during a briefing with journalists at the National Assembly, noting that 355,000 tourists have visited Armenia from January to April.
“In the first four months of last year, 123,000 tourists came, and for the entire year, there were 355,000, with the flow of tourists primarily occurring in the second half of the year. The tourism sector is quite vibrant, and we are seeing tourist flows not only from Russia but also from Iran and European countries,” said Kerobyan.
He reminded that last year, nearly $3 billion was invested in tourism infrastructure, compared to $1 billion in 2020. Kerobyan indicated that significant investments in this sector are also planned for next year.
